CARE CALLS FROM 30 MINUTES UPWARDS.  NO MINIMUM ONE HOUR CARE CALL AT INDEPENDENT LIVING!

WITH THE COVID 19 OUTBREAK IN CARE HOMES PERHAPS YOU ARE CONSIDERING CARE AT HOME AS A BETTER OPTION?

At Independent Living we put people at the heart of what we do.  We know that most older people want to remain in their own home as long as possible.  Research continually shows that most people want to remain in surroundings they feel comfortable with, in fact many of us dread the idea of going into a care home.  Our aim is simple –  to provide a high quality bespoke service that makes living at home possible.  This can be anything from companionship through to personal care.

The home care sector attracts many care businesses whose service does not always meet the customer’s need.

Some companies:

  • Insist on a minimum care call of 1 hour;
  • Ask for payment BEFORE providing your care
  • Cover a large geographical area;
  • Don’t tell you their charges until they visit your home;
  • Take a carer’s travel time from your care time;
  • Continue to charge you if you temporarily suspend the service.

We provide a flexible service driven by our customer’s needs.  WE CAN COMPLETE CARE CALLS FROM 30 MINUTES, WE STAY THE FULL ALLOTTED TIME, WE HAVE NO LONG-TERM CONTRACTS AND WE ONLY WORK 8 MILES FROM OUR OFFICE.

We have deliberately created a medium size care company.  We want to be big enough to cope with more complex care, but we want to be small enough to be able to know our customers and their families personally.  The business is managed by Mark, Amanda and Lilian who know all our customers and their family.  We have found that our customers and their family really appreciate dealing with the three of us directly.  Mark, Lilian and Mark have over 50 years of combined care experience.  Home care is a very emotive service and people want to have a relationship with those managing the care rather than being put through to anyone in the office.  We intentionally operate from High Street premises as it encourages our customers, their families and our carers to visit us to discuss issues of concern.

We also know if we have great carers they will deliver customers a great service.  We have a lower turnover of staff because we pay competitive wages, train our staff and we have a close working relationship with our staff.  Where possible we promote from within to give those staff that want it career progression.
