WE DO NOT TAKE OUT TRAVEL TIME. WE STAY THE FULL CALL DURATION.

We provide high quality home care in the Chorley borough, Leyland (PR25/26) and the southern Chorley boundary – Wrightington, Standish, Shevington, Appley Bridge (WN6) and Parbold and Newburgh (WN8). We work no further than 8 miles from our office because we believe this contributes to your high quality care. In an emergency we are within 30 minutes of your home, and we are not asking our carers to travel large distances to deliver your care.
Independent Living has been providing care since 2011. Mark, Amanda and Lilian who run Independent Living have over 50 years combined experience in home care. As a company we are large enough to cope with complex care packages but we are small enough to know all our customers and their families personally. When you work with us you will deal Mark, Amanda and Lilian – you are more than just a customer on a database.
We are rated “GOOD” by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and have built up a tremendous reputation locally. We get much of our business through word of mouth as our delighted customers and their families recommend us. Mark is also a member of Leyland Rotary Club and has helped many of the older members of the club when they have been unwell.
No 1 hour Minimum Care Call
It is increasingly common for care companies to have a minimum call time of 1 hour. WE DO NOT HAVE A MINIMUM CALL TIME OF 1 HOUR. Within reason your care calls can be from 15 minutes upwards. WE BELIEVE IT IS UNETHICAL TO CHARGE YOU FOR ONE HOUR’S CARE IF THE TASKS ONLY TAKE 30 MINUTES.
We Do Not Charge Travel Time
We do not take out “travel time” from your care call. It is common in home care to charge the customer for 1 hour’s care of which 40 minutes is at the home, and 20 minutes is the carers travel time. AT INDEPENDENT LIVING ONE HOUR’S CARE MEANS ONE HOUR WITH THE CUSTOMER.
Flexible Care Contracts
Our care contacts are flexible and fair. If you need to suspend our service the care charges stop immediately. INDEPENDENT LIVING DOES NOT CHARGE CUSTOMERS RETAINERS IF THEY SUSPEND THEIR CARE.
WE ARE NOT AN AMERICAN CARE FRANCHISE WHICH IS BECOMING MORE COMMON IN THE HOME CARE SECTOR. We are truly a local company and we design all our care services to meet the requirements of people in Lancashire. We are constantly improving our service based on what our Lancashire customers tell us, not a Head Office.
OUR PRICES ARE PROVIDED CLEARLY BEFORE WE VISIT YOUR HOME SO YOU CAN DECIDE WHETHER OR NOT TO PROCEED. We believe our care costs are competitive for the high quality service we provide.
