I have just been walking in Chorley town centre at lunch time, and it is full of shoppers, tomorrow is Christmas Eve, so it is the second-to-last shopping day.  Being busy is great for the local businesses, the market is thriving, and there was a queue at the butchers’ counter in Booths. However, in a fortnight’s time, we are into the new year, and it is often a time when we sort out problems we have put off for a while, particularly over Christmas.  This includes home support for a loved one.  With families spending more time together at Christmas, it may also have become apparent that an elderly relative is struggling more than we realised.  Watching a person closely, we may notice they are not dealing with tasks as well as we would expect. This could include: cooking, cleaning, dressing, or getting out and about.
