Getting Out and About in the Spring and Summer

As I write this today the sun is shining and yesterday the clocks went forwards giving us lighter evenings.  Looking at the weather forecast for the week it is predicted to be very hot despite it only being April.  Most people think that a care company only help people who are housebound but as the weather improves in the Spring more customers want to get out and about.

All Independent Living’s all our carers have business insurance on their cars which means they can take customers out.  We can take people to places of interest such as Astley Park, Birkacre, Derby House and Heskin Hall, Cedar Farm and Golden Days Garden Centre.  We can also help with practical tasks such as taking customers to Chorley Market or  supermarket shopping.   As we get older it is inevitable health issues emerge and an increasing amount of our work is taking customers to doctors’ appointments, hospital outpatients, opticians, dentist, chiropodist etc.  Many customers have family but find they are working or perhaps do not live locally and cannot always help.  We can take people directly to the appropriate department which a taxi service is unlikely to be able to do.
