Getting Out and About to Blackpool
Home care is mainly known for helping people to continue to live in their own home and the care tasks often take place in this environment. However, over the years we have found more of our care work has involved taking people out and about. Many older people inevitably have health issues and we increasingly take customers to hospital appointments. This may be NHS hospitals like Chorley/South Ribble or Preston Royal but increasingly it can be private operators like Euxton Hall, Fulwood or the Beardwood in Blackburn. A number of jobs we carry out can be slightly unusual! One of the jobs we do is to take a lady to Blackpool once a month to deliver her astrology talk at an hotel! We take the customer to Blackpool on a Tuesday afternoon and complete the return journey on a Friday morning. Whilst there is no problem with the established taxi companies many people want accompanying and help with their bags, not just dropped off at a front door on main entrance.
