Looking for a new Job this September?

After the August Bank Holiday, many of us move out of holiday mode and focus on going back to work and getting the children ready for school or university.  After a busy summer, you may be looking for a new job.  In recent years, with the above inflation rises in the National Minimum Wage, care work is becoming better paid each year.  Helping older people in their own homes in our local area has several advantages: the work is local, it can be flexible, you meet new people, and it is highly rewarding.

The job itself is varied, although unlike some care companies because we only cover a small area (Chorley and Leyland), it means your travel is limite,d which is helpful on those cold, dark, winter days, and this also reduces your travel time and fuel costs.

What Does the Role Involve?

The work includes: companionship, personal care, making meals and drinks, medication prompting, light housekeeping, and taking clients to appointments.  On some occasions, we have overnight care, which appeals to some of our carers.

Do I Need Experience to Apply?

Previous experience in care is always helpful, but not essential. For the right people, we offer care training and shadowing.  Enjoying helping people, good communication, and common sense are probably the most important attributes for being a carer.  Our training is completed in-house, and you will shadow our existing care staff.  All new care staff are paid for this activity, and we will complete your DBS check at our expense.

Anyone considering a career as a home carer must have access to a car and be over the age of 18, and we are unable to consider people requiring sponsorship from overseas.
