Did you know?

People think a home care company only provides care inside the house. Whilst it is true that this forms the majority of Independent Living’s work, an increasingly demanded service is to “take people out and about”.  In particular demand is medical appointments: doctors, dentists, and opticians, where people, due to mobility or confidence, do not want to go alone.  Many of our transport activities involve taking people to outpatient appointments, mainly Chorley and South Ribble Hospital or Royal Preston, but sometimes places further afield, such as Salford Hope, Blackpool Victoria, or Christie’s in Manchester.  If our customers are unable to walk, we use a lightweight wheelchair that travels in the boot of the car.  At appointments, we can accompany someone in the appointment itself if they want support, or we will sit outside if they want privacy.

We can also take people on happier trips!  Common outings include the market, garden centres, the supermarket, cafes, and friends in care homes.  Again, with our wheelchair, we can help most people if they are able (even with help) get in or out of the car.

If you are looking for home care to get out and about in the Chorley or Leyland area, why not give Amanda or Lilian a call 01257 696 050 0r 01772 439 102.
