Where the sunshine?
I am sitting here writing this in Independent Living’s offices in February 2025. A few days’ ago when I arrived at work I suddenly thought to myself “I haven’t seen any sunshine for well over a week”. Sure enough, when reading an online newspaper later the same day an article discussed that we haven’t had a run of 10 days without sunshine for almost 50 years. Today I have been around Chorley market and a lack of sun is made worse by a biting cold wind.
Being more positive Spring is just around the corner! Its now light when I come to work and when I go home. Soon we will be getting more sunshine and warmer days. At this point many of our customers want to go out and about more and as a care company this is an increasing part of our care work. All our carers have business insurance on their vehicles and can take people out. It may be a social event such as a coffee shop, Birkacre Garden centre, Heskin Hall or perhaps Derby House. Carers can also take customers to events such as coffee mornings or to the supermarket. Most of our customers are elderly and inevitably have medical appointments and we can provide transport to doctors, clinics or local hospitals.
If our carers can help a loved one in the Chorley or Leyland area why not give us a call? Our care services vary with calls booked on a regular basis at a certain time on a specific day, or it can be more flexible with reasonable notice.
