Travel to Appointments

Last week we took a call from a lady who needed transport to two medical appointments in the same day because her son had been taken ill and couldn’t do them.  We were able to help this customer make both appointments.  As I drive around Chorley and Leyland I pass dentists, hospitals, doctors’ surgeries, hospitals and I reckon I’ve taken customers to most of them!  In fact when customers tell me which department they need at Chorley Hospital I tell them how to find it!  I’ve been so many times!

Travel to appointments is a growing care service, many older people do not have relatives living locally or perhaps their children are working or on holiday.  Most older people don’t want to arrange a taxi and after treatment is it perhaps better being taken home by someone you know.  Most people think care is only in the home but increasingly care has become a much broader range of services.
